Andersen Housing provides supported living services and accommodation
Andersen Housing is proud to provide supported living services to a venerable people.
Helping people with diverse and complex needs enjoy life to the fullest while respecting their right to independence is our drive to support them in ways which are best for them. We are here to provide support so as to develop their day to day living skills, encourage them to learn new things and guide on ways to develop their confidence.
We provide a variety of services, allowing us to tailor our support efficiently. We work from a person-centred approach which keeps the service user as the centre of decisions at all times. We provide key workers that work hard to create and carry out exactly what is needed, and we find that keeping friends and family involved in the care (when appropriate) can be really positive.
Our person-centred plans will incorporate the following:
- What type of support a person needs
- How often they need the support
- Finding appropriate place/room to live
- Goals they will like to achieve
- Skills they will like to develop
- Activities they enjoy – whether group or individual
- Plans for the future
Core Support
This is where we support service users on a 24-hour basis. Supports includes personal care, health care support, practical and domestic support – all through a holistic and person-centred approach. We work with family and friends, social workers and other professionals where needed, as we believe that shared knowledge and team work can have huge benefits for our service users.
1-1 Support
The support provided helps to encourage independence and confidence both in the home and the community for our service users. Our focus is to make sure our service users are safe first and foremost; they are able to attend appointments, jobs interviews, reviews and social get-togethers.
We also support health related physical needs, such as managing challenging and anti-social behaviours. Our staff are fully trained and always having our services users’ needs at the fore front.
Waking Night Support
It’s not just in the day time that help is needed, so our waking night support can provide that extra bit of time for families and friends to recuperate, ready to face the next day with lots of energy. For example, someone may need overnight monitoring for health reasons, or maybe experiencing complex behavioural difficulties or has no understanding of risks or danger (which means they shouldn’t be left alone).
2 -1 Support
In certain circumstances we understand that for safety compliance, some service users require 2 -1 support. This could be for a variety of reasons, maybe severe challenging behaviour, safe transferal from one place to another, or physical disabilities for instance.
Even though these situations can be stressful for those close to our service users, you can rest assured our support will be delivered with care, compassion and quality. It’s important to us that everyone involved has a positive experience.
If there are any types of support that you’d like further information on, please send us a message or give us a call. We’ll always be on hand to answer questions and put your mind at ease.
