Homelessness
Working Together to Create a better Society
People who are considered homeless are people who lack a secure place in which they are entitled to live.
A person may lose his/her home for a variety of reasons, namely rising pressure from high rents and low pay, or a sudden life event like losing a job/unemployment or family breakdown. These situations can quickly force such a person into homelessness.
The most visible form of homelessness is rough sleeping. Homeless persons tends to sleep on the streets where their safety is at risk. They often suffer from multiple health conditions such as mental health problems and drug misuse. These people face greater danger of violence compared to the general population.
A homeless person is often devastated due to the isolation he/she may experience.
In order to assist the homeless, Andersen Housing will provide supported accommodation to them by providing affordable, good quality, safe and comfortable homes while giving them a chance to reintegrate into society and work towards achieving their goals and objectives.
